Children's Playing Cards
Some novelty playing cards found at car boot sale today to add to our collection. Lovely printing process and colours. Shame they are so battered! They have obviously been well thumbed over the years.

Found Photos
More photos from the boot sale last weekend bought for a few pennies. The top one was taken in Egypt in 1944. RAF I am reliably told. The bottom two are from the seaside but no info given. I love all the hats and the casual way some are lolling about. Note also the boy with a sailing boat and the drying swimsuit in the bottom one.

Old Fruit Bags
I bought these at the auto-jumble in Llandudno over the Victorian Extravaganza weekend. The weather was awful that day we went round the vintage vehicles just outside of town so we didn't stay as long as we hoped. We didn't see much of the old cars or motorbikes. The rows and rows of chugging stationary engines are always fun to watch and it amuses me ( and Hazel too ) how the owners sit very proudly behind them in their deckchairs - getting up occasionally to adjust a valve or pour water into a tank or tinker in some way. The auto jumble is the most fun part for me - rummaging through piles of junk, mostly car parts, but also antiques of various kinds. Things you would never expect - like these packets pf old fruit bags from some dusty corner of a warehouse recently discovered and bundled up to sell off cheap. Well, not that cheap - the label said £5 but I got them for £3 - about 50p a bag.

More Old Found Photos
More photos from the pile I bought at the boot sale. Most seem to have been taken on the Isle of Man in 1954/55.

Found Photos
Found at a boot sale yesterday in Northwich. Hazel bought some old birthday and valentines cards at the same stall. I will try and upload some more soon.
Johnny Morris Flexidisc
I found this flexidisc in a charity shop yesterday. Johnny Morris was a very popular children's entertainer back in the 60's and 70's. Fond memories of his "Animal Magic" TV shows where he played the part of a zoo keeper at Bristol Zoo and did the voices of the animals. Also "Tales of the Riverbank" about Hammy The Hamster and friends which he also did the voices for. We had the pleasure to meet him once at a radio station foyer in Birmingham in the 90's when he must have been in his 80's. We were there to give an interview about our joint exhibition at Walsall art gallery called "Weirdorama". A very amiable chap who was kind enough to sign Hazel's notebook which she was thrilled by.
Johnny does his usual dulcit tones about Clarksons holidays and the trend for cheap package holidays in Spain, Greece and Italy etc. in the late 60's and early 70's.

Slide Show Evening
A while ago Josef has been giving me a package of 500
slides ordered online, not knowing what´s inside. Nice surprise – in different meanings. We organised the other equipment (light table, slide projector, slide
magazines) so we could start our first slide show evening after many years.
That was great fun, especially because there were round about 150 cat-slides
(yawn) and 150 slides with modification of buildings (so everyone has got his
own hobby!). But afterwards there were some real beautiful landscapes and person pictures from the 80ies. A
good start for a new collage project – maybe! I´m so glad, that my mother and
my aunt gave me familiy-slides – they are waiting on beeing projected. We´ll wait and see what happens!

Lennon Suit
I don't believe I have ever read that Lennon wore the same suit in two movies. I was looking at his suit in the Magical Mystery Tour and realised that he wore that in the start of the Dick Lester movie from 1966 'How I Won the War' from memory it was the start of the film where the newly recruited soldiers were lined up in a yard. I can't find a colour version of the suit in that movie, and I'm happy if proven wrong - I know it's not important but in these days of everything being noted and pulled apart I thought it strange that I've never read this.
If anyone knows any different then please let us know.
Get those Beatle books out.
Love and Peace.

Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick
I found an old pocket camera at my parents home – including a
film and some flashlights.
That was a great finding for me because my very first camera was
like that one and was called „ritsch-ratsch-klick“ – imitating the sounds it
makes by using it. The only thing you can choose is: „Cloud“ or „Sunshine“ – so:
easy to use!
Beside this I found an old photo taken by me. The image
detail is gorgeous, isn`t it?! Haha!Friday 19 April 2013
Science Fair 130 Electronic Projects
Here's the 130 Electronic Project box I bought recently in a charity shop for a quid. Fun for every boy and girl into making gadgets. It makes all kinds of things from radios to burglar alarms. We have only made the first four in the thick 156 page manual so far - one being The Chirping Bird.

buz
I accidentally found this vintage toy at the Rozelle markets in Sydney last year and gave it to a friend as a surprise. This friend had become so obsessed with the Morse code that he even sent me text messages and emails written entirely in dots and lines. I have no idea what they said! What I personally like about the set are the hand written notes and that it was made in Australia (probably in the early to mid 1960s).

Stereo Cards
A few of the stereo cards Hazel bought at the boot sale on Sunday. Some a bit faded and dull subjects like churches and landscapes but these are more interesting and look great in the stereo viewer we have.
