Yazoo 2011 - Live In London

I'd forgotten what a great catchy song this is and my how Alison Moyet has slimmed down - she looks younger now than did back in 1982 when this first came out!   Also an old interview on Charlie Gillet's radio show from around that time on my Boot Sale Sounds  blog.

Brett Domino - Gold

Great new song from the amusing Brett Domino - a homage to Marmite and everything gold and not gold.

Lennon Suit

I don't believe I have ever read that Lennon wore the same suit in two movies.  I was looking at his suit in the Magical Mystery Tour and realised that he wore that in the start of the Dick Lester movie from 1966 'How I Won the War' from memory it was the start of the film where the newly recruited soldiers were lined up in a yard.  I can't find a colour version of the suit in that movie, and I'm happy if proven wrong - I know it's not important but in these days of everything being noted and pulled apart I thought it strange that I've never read this.

If anyone knows any different then please let us know.

Get those Beatle books out.

Love and Peace.

Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick

I found an old pocket camera at my parents home – including a film and some flashlights.
That was a great finding for me because my very first camera was like that one and was called „ritsch-ratsch-klick“ – imitating the sounds it makes by using it. The only thing you can choose is: „Cloud“ or „Sunshine“ – so: easy to use!
Beside this I found an old photo taken by me. The image detail is gorgeous, isn`t it?! Haha!

Science Fair 130 Electronic Projects

Here's the 130 Electronic Project box I bought recently in a charity shop for a quid.  Fun for every boy and girl into making gadgets.  It makes all kinds of things from radios to burglar alarms.  We have only made the first four in the thick  156 page manual so far - one being The Chirping Bird.

buz

I accidentally found this vintage toy at the Rozelle markets in Sydney last year and gave it to a friend as a surprise. This friend had become so obsessed with the Morse code that he even sent me text messages and emails written entirely in dots and lines. I have no idea what they said! What I personally like about the set are the hand written notes and that it was made in Australia (probably in the early to mid 1960s).

Shipbulding - Robert Wyatt

One of the greatest anti-war songs ever written by Elvis Costello. An antidote to all that's going on today.

Le Journal de Mickey

Vintage comics I bought at a market in Paris. They are from around the late 1960s/early 1970s.

A walk for the lazy ones

This weekend I have to be very bussy – and I don´t like to!!! I would like to prefer going for a walk in the woods. That´s why I´m posting this little video „A walk for the lazy ones“ which I made a while ago .... To go for a walk is always very inspiring!

Stereo Cards

A few of the stereo cards Hazel bought at the boot sale on Sunday. Some a bit faded and dull subjects like churches and landscapes but these are more interesting and look great in the stereo viewer we have.

Otis Fodder's 365 Days

This was a fun internet project hosted by Otis Fodder - the renowned DJ who specialises in odd and quirky songs and sounds . People were invited to add a strange song from their collections every day for a whole year.  I took part back in 1998?   and added a Bollywood track.  I think all the songs can still be heard on the esoteric UBU  website.  I will have to check.  Here's a small selection of just 48 tracks on my DropBox stream.  You can find it HERE.
